A Rare Flintlock Pistol For Customs And Excise
By Barnett, London, Early 19th Century

With two-stage brass barrel shortened during its working life and engraved 'Customs' along the top flat of the octagonal breech, border engraved tang decorated with foliage, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock with roller, foliate engraved cock, figured full stock with rounded butt (fore-stock and ramrod-pipe reduced), brass mounts comprising rounded butt-cap and border engraved trigger-guard with pineapple finial, the bow decorated with a flower-head, and later brass-tipped ramrod, London proof marks
