A Rare .577/450 Unmodified Third Model Martini Henry Mark I Service Rifle
Dated 1873

With blued sighted barrel retained by two blued barrel bands, the forward one incorporating a bayonet lug on the right, calibrated folding adjustable back-sight, blued dated action with 'VR' crowned above 'Enfield' forward of the cocking-indicator on the right side, figured butt and fore-stock, the former with circular Enfield arsenal mark on one side and unusual chequered steel butt-plate, blued trigger-guard, sling loops, original ramrod, and retaining most of its original finish, War Department marks, Inspector's marks and proof marks
