A Map Powder-Horn Relating To the French And Indian Wars

Incised with scrimshaw work depicting the forts and settlements along the North and Mohawk rivers from New York up to Lake Searon and Lake Ontario respectively, the first with a view of shipping in a harbour, the base with the royal arms and mottoes, and inscribed 'Musquet. Powder & ball cause a fall. To French & Indian gall. Confusion & a Pox on them all. God smite them in there Wicked Crimes.', late 18th century brass mounts turned with pairs of lines and comprising circular base-plate and nozzle (cut-off spring missing), and two brass rings for suspension
