A Rare Medieval Knightly Sword
Mid-14th To Mid-15th Century

With broad tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with latten-inlaid running wolf mark within the central fuller on both sides of the forte, hilt comprising slightly down bent guard of tapering octagonal section, leather-covered grip over cord bindings and iron rings, the latter beneath the pommel, at the mid-point and above the guard, and chamfered octagonal wheel-pommel with a cross in a circular recess on each side between punched quatrefoils, and surmounted by a pyramidal shaped tang button (wear and pitting overall)
