A German Composite Two-Hand Processional Sword
Late 16th/Early 17th Century

With broad double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section below the ricasso and with rounded point, long ricasso with down-pointed side-lugs and deeply struck with a fleur-de-lys shaped mark in a shield on one side beneath, blackened iron hilt comprising side-rings of diamond section each enclosing a scrolled fleur-de-lys, downcurved quillons en suite each terminating in three scrolls, tapering leather-covered grip with three central swellings, and large blackened globular pommel with button
