A Two-Hand Processional Sword In German Late 16th/Early 17th Century Style
Late 19th/Early 20th Century, Possibly By Ernst Schmidt Of Munich

With broad double-edged blade deeply struck on one side with a cross between pellet and crescent moon marks, long ricasso covered with black leather tooled with two circular marks on one side, downpointed side-lugs, iron hilt comprising side-rings of diamond section incised with pairs of lines and each enclosing a scrolled fleur-de-lys, downcurved quillons en suite and each with three scrolls at the tip, segmented plummet-shaped pommel with incised waved lines between dots, and leather-covered grip of octagonal section bound with twisted iron wire above and below
