An English Silver-Mounted Hanger
Late 17th Century, Silversmith's Mark HH Conjoined In A Shield

With curved blade (some light pitting) double-edged at the point and deeply struck with a crowned king's head mark on each side at the forte, hilt with cast and chased decoration comprising lobed rear quillon with a horseman on each side, knuckle-guard with a 'Green Man' between florets on both sides, the foliate terminal hooked into the pommel-cap, the latter with cherub's heads, busts of Roman emperors and foliage centred on the tang button, and natural buckhorn grip with a collar at its base
