An English Brass-Mounted Hanger
Late 17th Century

With slightly curved fullered saw-back blade (some cutting-edge nicks) double-edged at the tapered point, cast and chased hilt comprising downcurved shell-guard with a standing figure holding a staff amid foliage, knuckle-guard en suite and hooked into the pommel-cap, lobed rear quillon, pommel-cap with winged cherub's heads and busts of Roman emperors centred on the tang, and natural staghorn grip with a collar at its base
