The first with curved tapering single-edged blade, the forte on each side punched with a flower and retaining some gilding, a gilt-lined man-in-the-moon bladesmith's mark beyond, iron hilt (knuckle-guard mostly missing) with lobed rear quillon chiselled with foliage, cushion-shaped pommel chiselled with foliage centred on the tang button, and natural buckhorn grip (old chips, rust patination overall); the second of couteau type with curved saw-back blade (some pitting) double-edged at the point, hilt retaining its embossed silver collar, domed engraved silver pommel-cap with button, and natural buckhorn grip (2)
