An English Brass-Mounted Hanger
Late 17th/Early 18th Century

With curved fullered blade (some wear and rust patination overall) double-edged at the point and retaining traces of etched decoration including flower-heads over each side of the forte, cast and chased hilt comprising side-guard with a standing figure amidst foliage and linked to the knuckle-guard, the latter with a portrait bust (worn) on both sides, lobed foliate rear quillon, pommel-cap with 'Green Man' masks and florets centred on the tang button, and grip of natural staghorn with a collar at its base
