An Unusual Indian Dagger
18th Century

With bright blade adapted from an English officer's spadroon and double-edged at the point, the forte on each side etched and gilt with a trophy of arms and the royal motto 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' between panels of stylised foliage, and surmounted by three cross marks, and iron tulwar hilt of characteristic form, the bud-shaped final with pierced loop for a tassel
