A Turkish 32-Bore Miquelet-Lock Rifle (Shishana)
18th Century

With swamped octagonal sighted barrel (scattered light pitting) rifled with seven grooves and retained by three incised and punched brass barrel bands, unusual folding leaf back-sight, plain tang, characteristic lock, figured Circassian walnut full stock inlaid overall with small brass and dark horn roundels and brass nails, flared faceted butt en suite and veneered at the centre with panels of stag horn or bone between two rows of dome-headed brass nails, iron butt-plate bordered by triangular pieces of mother-of-pearl each secured by a brass pin, button trigger, brass fore-end cap, and steel ramrod
