The first with domed skull decorated with lightly silver-damascened roundels against a ground of chiselled foliage, the rim bordered by ovoidal and circular panels of lightly silver-damascened chiselled Persian verses, fitted with central spike of diamond section, two plume-holders (one incomplete), adjustable nasal with shaped finials, and vandyked camail of small butted rings (some wear overall); the second of four plates finely riveted together, rectangular and curved to fit under the armpit, decorated down the centre on the outside with three linked cartouches chiselled with symmetrical arrangements of arabesques with gold-damascened borders, the outer borders with elongated panels chiselled within Persian verses between quatrefoils chiselled with birds and a deer, all with gold-damascened borders including running arabesques, gold-damascened loops for leathers, and brass reinforcing strips around the outside (2)
