With curved blade of finely watered wootz steel (minor areas of rust patination) double-edged to the point in front of the yelman, the forte on each side with long gold-damascened cartouche with borders of meandering flowering foliage enclosing the inscription 'This is the gift of Navvab Amin al-Mulk' on one side, and 'Navvab Fath...' on the other, the first with a further gold-damascened cartouche above inscribed 'Work of Asadullah Isfahari', a gold-damascened amulet (beduh) above, the back of the blade with gold-damascened inscription 'May God protect the owner of this sword', all the inscriptions in nasta'liq and against a ground of gold stars and dots, steel hilt decorated overall with gold-damascened buildings and trees before rivers, the central trees on each side of the grip inhabited by two birds, comprising pointed langets with pierced arabesque terminals, and quillon terminals and pommel each formed in the round as a gold-damascened makara-head, in original wooden scabbard covered in plum velvet (faded) with long steel chape and suspension mounts decorated en suite with the hilt, the latter each with silvered suspension ring, and in fine condition overall
