The first with curved fullered blade (worn and rust patinated), hilt comprising shouldered border engraved quillon-block decorated with a foliate cartouche on each side, the downcurved quillons each with stylised monster-head quillon, and beaked wooden grip covered in foliate engraved silver (worn overall, incomplete at the pommel), in its wooden scabbard covered in tooled leather with silver locket and associated chape each embossed and chased with symmetrical flowering foliage, suspension mounts en suite each with suspension ring, and tasseled suspension cord; the second comprising a shamshir with curved blade, cast and chased brass hilt bound with twisted copper wire above the quillon-block, and re-covered metal scabbard with brass mounts cast with Arabic calligraphy along each side, and two further shamshirs each in poor condition (4)
