A Composite English Civil War Period Breast-Plate And Tassets
Mid-17th Century

The breast-plate with low medial ridge drawn-out to a blunt point above a deep flanged skirt, turned neck and arms with incised line borders, the former struck with armourer's mark 'TR', and retaining its hook and stud catches for shoulder-straps, and associated rectangular hinged tassets each embossed with simulated overlapping lames, recessed turned borders, and rows of dome-headed rivets; together with a rear gorget-plate en suite (some pitting overall) (2)
