Five French Brass-Mounted Powder-Flasks For Percussion Pistols, And Another For Percussion Sporting Guns
All Mid-19th Century

The first with bag-shaped copper body embossed on each side with a sporting trophy suspended from a ribbon between '2 onces' at the top, and 'PFDF' above 'Paris' in an oval at the bottom, and brass top with sprung plunger nozzle; the second of similar form, the body embossed on each side with a martial trophy within branches of laurel and oak, and with 'BA Paris' at the top, and brass top with sprung cut-off lever (spring replaced); the third, fourth and fifth each with shaped copper body (one seam open at the bottom on one side) embossed with a cupid and a stag within a cartouche on both sides, and each with brass top, adjustable nozzle, and sprung cut-off lever; the last with planished bag-shaped body embossed with a landscape scene involving a sportsman, his tethered horse and two gundogs at the gates to his mansion, brass top, and two suspension rings (all with some wear) (6)
