With steel bow retaining its original bindings, woollen cord and red and green pom-poms, original string of twisted cords, ebonised hardwood tiller (minor damage) inlaid on one side in engraved bone with adorsed sphinxes (minor loss of inlay) with entwined tails, and on the other with adorsed satyrs amid foliage, a cupid amid foliage at the rear, cheek-piece carved with a foliate scroll and inlaid with bone foliage and a crowned vacant cartouche between cornucopiae, and along the top with a mask amid foliated strapwork and with a caryatid supporting a thumb recess, all within bone lines, bone bolt-channel (incomplete in front of the fore-sight) and butt-plate, iron nut finely chiselled with foliage, bone bolt-clip, iron trigger-guard retaining its cord binding and woollen pom-poms, long trigger-plate (finial missing), and adjustable set trigger (iron loop missing, some rust patination)
