A Brass-Mounted Powder-Flask For A Percussion Sporting Gun, Another For A Rifle, And Eighteen Various Shot-Flasks For Antique Longarms
Mostly 19th Century

The first with bag-shaped body covered in brown pigskin (some scuffing, seam partly open at the base), and top retaining much of its original lacquered finish; the second with elongated bag-shaped body covered in pigskin (some wear, damaged on one side at the bottom); the third comprising one by Dixon & Sons, with bag-shaped body stamped '1½ lb', case-hardened nozzle with sprung cut-off lever, suspension ring, and in fine condition, five others of similar form, one stamped 'Lang, Haymarket' on the lever (some rust patination and damage, one lever incomplete, one suspension ring detached), three others, two tooled with huntsmen in a foliate cartouche above 'G & J.W. Hawksley, Sheffield' (one worn overall), and one with game birds in a landscape on each side, and each with brass nozzle and cut-off lever, five others of similar plain form (one damaged), and three others each with circular leather body, brass nozzle, and shot-measure with steel retaining-clip (some wear and damage); together with a cow horn flask with body of tapering oval section, threaded cap, and wooden base-plug (minor damage) (21)
