Three Antique Pistol Cases
Mid-19th Century

The first of mahogany, lined and fitted for a pair of percussion pistols and accessories (two compartments missing), the interior of the lid with Williams & Powell, 25 South Castle Street, Liverpool trade label, the exterior with circular vacant brass escutcheon; the second of mahogany with brass mounts, lined and fitted for a percussion revolver and retaining a ramrod, and a steel bullet mould, the exterior of the lid with shaped vacant brass escutcheon; the last of mahogany with brass mounts, retaining some of its tooled pigskin lining and originally fitted for a percussion revolver and accessories, the exterior of the lid (later handle missing) with circular vacant brass escutcheon (loose); together with two mahogany cases (interiors removed, one keyhole escutcheon missing), one with flush-fitting carrying handle on a shaped brass plate engraved with owner's initials 'RW' (back of lid split) (5)
