A Swept-Hilt Rapier
Early 17th Century

With tapering blade now cut with two fullers along the forte on each side, rectangular ricasso stamped with crowned Toledo mark between fullers on both sides, hilt of slender bars comprising two outer side-rings joined to downcurved arms, the upper ring linked by a curved bar to the knuckle-guard, bifurcated inner-guard rising to join the knuckle-guard, barrel-shaped pommel with button, and later writhen wooden grip (rust patinated overall)
