Two Small-Swords with Chiselled And Gilt Hilts
Both Mid-18th Century

The first with tapering blade of hollow triangular section etched with a panel of symmetrical foliated strapwork against a hatched ground on each side of the forte, characteristic russet steel hilt chiselled in relief against a finely punched gilt ground with martial and musical trophies, foliage and rocailles, and grip bound with silver ribbon and twisted silver wire between Turks' heads; the second with tapering double-edged 17th century blade (some pitting overall) incised 'INI MINI' between cross marks on both sides of the forte, a running wolf mark beyond, and russet boat-shell guard chiselled with rocailles against gilt grounds overall (worn, loss of gilding) (2)
