An Italian Silver-Hilted Small-Sword, And A Continental Small-Sword with Close-Plated Hilt
The First With Rome Silver Mark, Both Late 18th Century

The first with sharply tapering blade of hollow triangular section retaining traces of blueing and gilding at the forte, hilt comprising oval shell-guard with pierced border, faceted quillon-block with arms and lobed rear quillon, slender faceted knuckle-guard (repaired), faceted ovoidal pommel, and faceted grip; the second with similar blade (rust patinated), hilt with flat ovoidal guard with beaded border, and grip bound with twisted silver wire (2)
