A German Mace
16th Century, Probably German

Entirely of steel, with head of seven triangular flanges each extending to a reinforced point and surmounted by a bud-shaped finial, tapering tubular spirally-twist haft and grip between roped mouldings and incised with pairs of lines, pierced for a thong, and domed terminal with button en suite with the haft (some pitting and rust patination)
65.5 cm.
