The first with cast-iron axe-head with convex cutting-edge, block-shaped socket, and fluke of three prongs of diamond section, on modern steel haft of circular section with cord-bound grip; the second with large triangular axe-blade (pitted) with quatrefoil and triangular piercings, one side stamped with a large fleur-de-lys mark, and made in one with a writhen socket of tapering circular section, on a modern wooden haft (2)
