Late 16th/Early 17th Century, Probably Swiss

The head with bellied blade rising to a triangular point, flat rectangular socket, and peen shaped as a four-pronged hammer-head deeply struck on each side with a maker's mark and incised with a band of line ornament behind, and secured by four long riveted side-straps to the remains of the original staff of octagonal section
56 cm.
