The first with fullered blade (minor surface rust) etched along half its length on one side with maker's details and crowned 'GRV' cypher between symmetrical designs of thistles, and along the other with crowned regimental details between thistles en suite, regulation nickel-plated guard retaining its buff leather liner faced in red woollen cloth, and red tassel, in its field service scabbard with nickel-plated mounts; the second with fullered blade etched along half its length on one side with maker's details and crowned 'VR' cypher between scrolling foliage, and on the other with cypher and foliage en suite, regulation steel hilt pierced and engraved with 'honeysuckle', and wire-bound fish-skin covered grip (fish-skin incomplete), in its steel scabbard (some denting) with two suspension rings (some light pitting) (2)
