A Highland Dirk, And Three Highland Regimental Piper's Dirks
Late 19th Century And Later

The first with bright blade double-edged over half its length to the point and stamped 'Lockwood Brothers, Sheffield' on one side, baluster grip carved with basketweave set with brass nails on one side, and brass mounts originally silvered and including pommel set with a piece of foiled faceted glass, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with plated mounts each chased with a wrigglework thistle on the outside, the by-knife and fork en suite with the dirk; the second etched with thistles on each side of the blade, one side with maker's details 'Robt. Mole & Sons, Manufacturers, Birmingham', ebonised grip carved with basketweave set with white-metal nails, and cast-iron pommel cast with a crown on top, in black leather-covered scabbard with cast-iron mounts cast with thistles; the third and fourth each of similar form and with white-metal mounts (4)
