With curved fullered blade (minor scattered pitting) double-edged towards the clipped-back point, border engraved regulation brass hilt retaining traces of original gilding and comprising ovoidal langets, lobed rear quillon, two side-bars swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, lion-head pommel with back-piece extending down the back of the grip, and leather-covered grip bound with copper wire, the inner langet and knuckle-guard engraved 'This Sword either Prussian or French was brought from the Field immediately after the Battle of Waterloo by Capt. Will.m Booth of the 15 Hussars and by him Presented to B. Sayle in 1816'

Footnotes
William Booth was a Lieutenant in the 15th Light Dragoons in 1808. He was promoted to Captain in 1812, and Major in 1823. He is recorded as quitting the service before 1830
