Eye-popping red coloration is seen in this stunning ammonite from Canada, a locality that produces the most brilliantly colored ammonite specimens in the world. Ammonites arose during the Devonian Period and met their end, along with the dinosaurs, during the K-T extinction. The closest living relative of the ammonite is the chambered nautilus. The present example is nicely inflated in shape. Measuring 20 x 16 ½in
