Exceptional Sauropod Dinosaur Claw
Rebbachisaurus
Cretaceous
North Africa
An extremely rare and highly desired claw of the long necked sauropod dinosaur from Africa, Rebbachisaurus, a close relative of Diplodocus. Estimated at 46-66 feet in length and over 7 tons in weight, the genus possessed a small head, a long neck and a whip-like tail. Unlike other sauropods, however, the genus displayed an unusually tall, rigid back. The discovery of a nearly identical South American sauropod supports the theory that there was still a land connection between Africa and South America during the Early Cretaceous, long after it was commonly thought the two continents had separated. Measuring 7 1/16in
