Triceratops Vertebra on Stand
Triceratops prorsus
Cretaceous
North Dakota
A fine Triceratops vertebra on a contemporary custom designed stand makes for a stunning textural piece which would be equally at home in a museum collection or as a dramatic décor accent for home or office. The presentation is an iconic piece of dinosauria; even the base is formed of a slab of fossiliferous shale. Triceratops is one of the most well known of all dinosaurs, famous for its distinctive three horns and frill. Known as the Cattle of the Cretaceous by some scientists, the genus travelled in herds in North America and served as prey for large carnivores, such as T. rex, during the Age of Dinosaurs. Specimen measuring 11 x 7 ½ x 4in
