Two Large 500-Million-Year-Old Jellyfish in Matrix

Mt. Simon-Wonewoc, Wisconsin
The largest and best-preserved jellyfish come from the 500-million-year-old Mt. Simon-Wonewoc Sandstone. This large slab contains two very large Medusae climactinites, which is the largest jellyfish species found in the fossil record. Both specimens exhibit excellent detail on the central bell and well-defined scalloped edges. Specimens measuring 12 ¼ x 11 ½in and 7 x 7in, respectively; Matrix measuring 20 ½ x 14 ½in
