Limited Edition Set of 12 Silver-plated Commemorative Coins with Minerals

Designed by Alex Shagin
Poland

Obtained directly from the designer/patent holder, this commemorative set of coins is one of only 500 which were minted. Designed by the famous medallic sculptor, Alex Shagin, this series was offered on national TV in Poland, as well as having been presented to the President of Poland. There is a set which is housed in the National Museum of Poland. Each inscribed "Skarby Polsky", the twelve silver-plated coins, measuring 50mm in diameter, are engraved with the name of a different mineral native to Poland including: topaz, amber, coal, silver, gold, meteorite, ruby, etc., and house small natural samples of each in an inset window. The feature of having an inset window in a coin with moving crystals inside is a patented technology. (12)
