Unusual Bi-color Sapphire
Pakistan (Kashmir)
Pakistan's Nangimali, Batakundi and Basil ruby and sapphire deposits in Azad Kashmir formed as a part of the collision between the Indian subcontinent and the Asian mainland. Fire specimens, such as this one, faceted as an oval blue-pink bi-color sapphire of intense color, are considered rare. Weighing approximately 2.13 carats and measuring 11.63 x 4.93 x 3.59mm

Accompanied by a Lotus Gemology report no 5372-6938 dated January 19, 2017 stating that the 2.13 carats stone is a bi-color sapphire which originates from Pakistan (Kashmir)and that it shows no indications of heating/treatment. This gem displays a most unusual bi-color effect. Bi-color rubies and sapphires are exceedingly rare.
