Maw-Sit-Sit Bead Necklace

Known today in the gem trade as "kosmochlore-jade", previously used names for maw-sit-sit in the West were jade-albite or chloromelanite. A metamorphic rock with a complex composition from Myanmar (Burma), the name maw-sit-sit is given by the local people. This is a mineral which has become increasingly sought-after in the last few years. The present necklace is a single-strand, comprising 126 beads of each 7mm diameter of bright green color, completed by a 14K yellow gold filigree clasp. Weighing approximately 52.30 grams. Length 36in
