Very Large Brazilianite
Corrego Frio Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Brazilianite is an unusual gemstone mineral which is relatively new to the mineral market. Found in Brazil (hence the name), Brazilianite is found in phosphate rich pegmatite and is one of the only phosphate minerals to be used as a serious gemstone with its fair luster and interesting color—a yellow to greenish yellow—slightly similar to topaz but more green. Discovered in the 1970s, the present example is reported to be the largest specimen of Brazilianite to have ever been found. This is a large cluster of bright green crystals, some of which measure up to 3 inches in length. Measuring 18 x 14 x 12 in
