A group of Jackie Collins' partial working drafts Lady Boss

Xerographic and autograph manuscripts signed ("Jackie Collins"), approximately 350 pp [recto and verso], 4to, annotated by Jackie Collins throughout in red, blue, and black felt tip pen, [Los Angeles, California], 1989, with a 7 pp plot and character outline, housed in manila envelopes labeled "Misc / Pages / Lady Boss," "'Lady Boss' / Misc Pages / Drafts," "Second Draft / Lady Boss," "Lady / Boss / First Draft / Pages 1-219." A rare group of heavily annotated fragments of Jackie Collins' romantic thriller Lady Boss (1990), the third novel in Collins' Lucky Santangelo series, in which Lucky takes over a Hollywood movie studio and runs afoul of the Mob. These heavily annotated pages reveal Collins' very thorough writing technique, including her handwritten insert pages on legal and loose-leaf paper. The longest fragment here is 219 consecutive pages, which has fewer annotations and features Collins' ownership signature and was dated on its title page.
