A Greek core-formed glass aryballos
Eastern Mediterranean, circa late 6th-5th Century B.C.
Cobalt blue in colour, the ribbed globular body with flaring mouth, applied opaque yellow and turquoise marvered threads wound spirally round the body, tooled into a zigzag pattern in the middle of the body, a turquoise thread applied to the edge of the rim, and twin cobalt blue handles with knobbed tails, 7.3cm high
