A German Composite Two-Hand Processional Sword
Late 16th/Early 17th Century

With flattened waved double-edged blade, long ricasso with down pointed side-lugs and struck with a shield-shaped bladesmith's mark on one side, iron hilt comprising side-rings of diamond section incised with foliage and each enclosing a scrolled fleur-de-lys, downcurved quillons en suite and each with three scrolls at the tip, tapering wooden grip covered in velvet (plush worn off, some repairs) and with three central swellings, and associated large plummet-shaped segmental pommel incised with scrollwork (light rust patination)
