A group of Roger Miller handwritten lyrics and notes
Autograph manuscript signed ("Roger Miller") 4 times, 30 pp, 8vo, [Los Angeles], mid-late1960s, pencil and pen, on unlined loose-leaf paper. A fine collection of singer/songwriter Roger Miller's handwritten lyrics to several of his hits, including "You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd" and "One Dyin' and a Buryin,'" as well as fragments of many unfinished songs; approximately 29 songs included. Other pages are labeled "Ad-Libs?" and "Play Idea," and another has phone numbers scribbled on it.
Provenance: From the collection of musician Lee Hazlewood's ex-wife, who acquired them from Roger Miller when he lived in an apartment over Hazlewood's garage during the 1960s.
