A Left-Hand Dagger
Late 16th/Early 17th Century, Probably German Or Italian

In excavated condition, with tapering sharply pointed double-edged blade (tip repaired) of flattened diamond section, fluted rectangular ricasso struck with a bladesmith's mark on both sides, hilt comprising slender arched quillons widening towards the tips, circular side-ring, faceted barrel-shaped pommel with button, and grip of slightly swelling hexagonal section bound with fine twisted iron wire between Turk's heads
