A Persian Tabarzin
Qajar, 19th Century

Similar to the last, the blade chiselled in bas-relief on one side with a Persian couple in an interior involving wine cups and utensils, a tree in the background visible through a window, and on the other a female figure and child in an interior en suite involving two birds and a cat, socket chiselled with a pair of birds and foliage within a cartouche on both sides, and block-shaped peen with a falcon attacking a bird, all the scenes against finely stippled grounds (haft terminal damaged)
