Adapted from a 1716/77 pattern sea service pistol, with copper 'barrel' open along the top and terminating in an ovoidal powder tray, plain copper tang, flat bevelled lock (worn and pitted) with 'GR' crowned and 'Tower' across the tail, ring-neck cock, figured full stock (old repair, butt partly replaced) with apron around the barrel tang, and regulation brass mounts (pommel replaced, tang of trigger-guard broken through, ramrod-pipe chipped, ramrod and belt hook missing)
