A North European Cavalry Sword
Mid-17th Century, Probably Dutch

With adapted double-edged rapier blade of flattened ovoidal section, the forte pierced with slots between small holes within the central fuller on each side, iron hilt comprising side-ring with double central swelling, knuckle-guard en suite and with a scroll beneath, down bent quillon with swelling terminal, pommel en suite, and original wooden grip bound with brass wire (minor damage) between Turk's heads
