A pair of Balkan 16-bore flintlock holster pistols (Zlatkas) with silver-gilt mounts
Prizren, Early 19th century

With three-stage barrels each chiselled with symmetrical foliage against a gilt ground at the breech, lightly engraved tangs each with a small gilt crescent mark, rounded lock and cocks en suite with the breeches, wooden full stocks entirely covered in silver-gilt secured by pins and finely embossed and chased overall with scrolling foliage including flower-heads, all against finely stippled grounds, spurred pommels, muzzle-sleeves and barrel bands (one replaced) en suite, butts bound with twisted and plain silver wire, spirally embossed false ramrods, and in fine condition retaining nearly all their original gilding (2)
