A Fine And Rare Cased 54-Bore Tranter Patent Third Model Five-Shot Self-Cocking Percussion Revolver
Retailed by James W. Rosier, Melbourne, No. 36,583.T., Circa 1865

With blued octagonal sighted barrel finely engraved with foliate scrollwork at the muzzle, breech and top-strap, the latter framing the retailer's details, foliate scroll engraved case-hardened cylinder with knurled forward edge, blued frame and trigger-guard finely engraved with foliate scrollwork, the former engraved at a later date with the number '007434' on the tang, bright double-trigger, hammer and foliate scroll engraved patent rammer, blued safety-stop, arbor pin and sprung catch, border engraved case-hardened ovoidal butt-cap decorated with foliate scrollwork, finely chequered figured rounded butt, and virtually all its original finish: in original fitted mahogany cased lined in blue baize with full accessories including brass bullet mould and Dixon & Sons powder-flask, the latter (small dent on one side) retaining most of its original lacquered finish, the exterior of the lid with vacant circular brass escutcheon, Birmingham proof marks
