The First Retailed By H. & J. Vincent, Melbourne, No. 8,593.T., Both Mid-19th Century

The first with octagonal sighted barrel engraved with foliate scrollwork on each side at the breech, border engraved top-strap with retailer's details, foliate scroll engraved cylinder with knurled forward edge, border engraved frame, trigger-guard, ovoidal butt-cap and patent rammer all decorated with foliate scrollwork, patent double-trigger, sprung safety-stop and arbor-pin catch, and chequered rounded butt, London proof marks; the second of characteristic form and retaining traces of foliate scroll engraved decoration (worn and pitted overall, action defective, arbor-pin catch missing), London proof marks (2)
