Footnotes

John Ehlers was an officer and stockholder of the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company assuming control of the company following its bankruptcy. Between about 1840 and 1843 it is believed that Ehlers completed about 500 unfinished Colt Paterson Pocket Model No.1 and Belt Model No.2 revolvers of which very few survive.
