A Cased Colt 1849 Model Pocket Percussion Revolver
No. 3820 For 1854

With blued octagonal sighted barrel with London address, cylinder with roll engraved stagecoach hold-up scene, case-hardened frame, hammer and rammer, silvered brass trigger-guard and back-strap (some loss of silvering), varnished figured rounded grips (minor loss of varnish), matching numbers, and much original finish: in original fitted mahogany case lined in burgundy velvet with accessories including Dixon & Sons flask with unusually long nozzle, split-ring for suspension and some original lacquered finish, and blued steel mould stamped 'Colt's Patent', the interior of the lid (minor split) with 'Directions for Loading and Cleaning' label (minor damage, lid escutcheon missing), London proof marks
